Introduction: Cervical lymph node metastases from differentiated thyroid carcinomas occur mainly in the central compartment with an incidence between 20 and 90% (average 60%). The American Thyroid Association considers that the central compartment goes to the unnamed artery thus systematically including level VII to level VI.
